Origins

The Boys (Paul, Toby, The Jag) were all raised somewhat right, great parents, good homes, graduated high school, and have upstanding respect for others but something changed after graduation. Having no responsibilities and nothing to look forward to but a good time, lead to one of those summers you grew up hearing your older relatives talk about.

It was during the summer of 2017, in Motown West Virginia (no, we didn't go to college). We had this shared headspace at the time, of living for the moment, forgetting tomorrow, and worrying about the rest later. That lead to all sorts of trouble that summer, from waking up in bushes, climbing on top of churches, and walking out on a $500 bar tab (we paid it...eventually).

Anyways the night LYND was born was nothing out of our ordinary routine, but we were partying at a frat house when, someone handed a glass cowboy boot, full of a dark liquid and who knows what else. The Boys looked around at one another and without any hesitation "Paul" Grabbed the mug and was just about to chug this mystery boot as the crowd around him was chanting "Chug, Chug, Chug". He paused as he brought it close to his mouth, eyes getting wide while looking at "Toby" and "The Jag". (Toby was rocking the hardest mullet known to man and The Jag was smoking a dart) The Jag yells "WTF you waiting for?" Then, Toby screams "Yeah, Let Your Nuts Drag B*tch" Paul then began to chug as the party turned into all out chaos. People were fighting, streaking down the street, lighting stuff on fire. The rest of that night isn't anything but a blur for The Boys.

From that night on "Let Your Nuts Drag" became a saying unlike any other. It came after everything. Going to do some sketchy sh*t? LYND. Having a debate about pulling a kayak behind a Four-Runner? LYND. Don't want to talk to that girl at the bar because she has a boyfriend? LYND (I'm kidding). Worried about throwing a rager at your parents' house? LYND. We were fearless, unphased, degenerates.

That's just a snippet of a summer that will live on for a lifetime and hopefully be told to our kids someday. At the time we didn't think much of a brand but as time went on, we separated and started our own lives from moving down south and moving out west. We have kept in touch over the years and often bring up inside jokes of that summer, some of which is on our current and future apparel.

We've built this brand around that summer feeling, it's for the bold, the people who don't just blend in but the people who aren't afraid to be themselves. Its confidence without compromise, it is owning every step you take, living by your own damn rules.

if you enjoyed this short story of how LYND became to be then Welcome to the LYND Legacy.

Much love for Paul and Toby.
